Patola is a luxurious silk ikat weave which is done by tie-resist dyeing of warp and/or weft yarns with a high level of exactness and precision resulting in a fabric with brilliant, bold colors and patterns. It is the epitome of art of weaving in tandem with art of dyeing. In the single Ikat Rajkot Patola saree, only one set of yarns is dyed, as opposed to the double Ikat Patan Patola saree, where both the warp and weft yarns are dyed.
