Chikankari is a traditional embroidery style from Lucknow, India. Chikan began as a type of white-on-white (or whitework) embroidery. White thread is embroidered on cool, pastel shades of light muslin and cotton garments. Usually use 6 strands of thread for a filled in look. It uses more than 30 different embroidery stitches and patterns like Tepchi, Bakhiya, Hool, Zanzeera, Rahet, Banarsi, etc.
